Since we started doing all this twitter stuff, the amount of people checking out our EP has sky rocketed even despite our fairly modest amount of followers. What’s even cooler is the amount of people who’ve downloaded it (for free, but still). If you liked it enough to click that download button, we thank ya. It means alot!

Anyway, I just thought I’d use this to sort of give a bit of background information to the band as at the moment all anyone is seeing if they do decide to check us out is a picture of a fat US president from the 1900’s.

Nath, Neil and I started playing under the name Common Sounds last summer and it mainly all came about because I had a couple of songs written that I wanted to record. They both agreed to play on em and our mate Dan was in to help me track them. Eventually we realised it would be more fun to do the whole thing as a band so we scrapped a few songs and instead wrote a few new ones (together this time). So we started recording our EP before we even had a band or played a show.

The whole thing cost £0 in studio time (As you can probably tell but shhh) and it was recorded, mixed and mastered in Nathan’s shed and my bedroom. It all felt a bit like a project, no pressure involved and the songs we ended up I’m real proud of.

The ‘creative process’ for the artwork was Nath coming up with the font for the logo and us deciding we wanted someone with a handlebar moustache on the front. It was gonna be Nath’s scary ass dog at one point but we decided to favour the obese gentleman.

Anyway, thats the jist. This summer we’re doing the same sort of thing but since Dan has come up in the world, its in a project studio that we can have for free at certain times. The songs are WAY better and we’re playing shows all through the summer (so far only in London, but we’re trying to get elsewhere) COME DOWN.
